Nikon Nikonos-V + 35mm 2.5

Nikonos underwater camera was launched by Nikon in 1963 and is based on the design of Calypso camera, designed by Jacques-Yves Cousteau and engineer Jean de Wouters. It uses 35mm film and can be operated underwater fairly easily, thanks to the large knobs. It's water tight to 50 meters if the O-ring is intact. O-ring should be, however be lubricated and changed from time to time to ensure the overall tightness (came from maintenance 09/2025). When rolling the film back after it's full lift the knob of the film rolling mechanism up before starting. 35mm lens is 50mm equivalent underwater. Ensure that the backside of the camera is well attached before entering the water.
