Sound Laboratory (2407)
MARSIO 2407 Audio Laboratory Audio laboratory is equipped with: Audio Workstation powered by a Mac Ultra M2 Ultra with 128GB RAM Surround System of 6.1 of Genelec 8350 speakers A total of 4 displays: 1x 34" LG widescreen 21:9 monitor 2x 27" LG 16:9 monitors 1x 42" TV. There speaker set up is operated by DAD AX Center audio interface through Mac OS Sonoma 14.7.4 Also there is an RME Dante Digiface for connecting your own computer. There is the possibility to use Nexis F5 based post-production network or we recommend to use your own external hard drive. Softwares: Ableton Live 11, TouchDesigner, Reaper v7, Native Instruments Komplete 14 Collectors Edition. Pro Tools Ultimate 2024.10.2 also available upon request. Plugins: Izotope RX Post Production Suite FabFilter Total Bundle Exponential Audio Reverb Suite Will be used for teaching and research mainly by the department of Art & Media. This studio can be used as a control room to record from the Sound Recording floors (2501 and 2503). Connected to the Dante Aalto Studios post-production network. This space available to all Aalto University users after completing a ‘Sound Permit’ introductory course, or by demonstrating your experience in using similar systems and short introduction on how to operate and book the space is mandatory.
