NOTICE: This device currently locates in Marsio, ABL storage room. Noraxon's Ultium EMG sensor system is a multi-modal device that delivers high-fidelity data and flexible measurement options. Ultium EMG sensors sample up to 4kHz, synchronize in real-time, and demonstrate low baseline noise (<1 μV RMS) with minimal native artifacts. The package includes EMG, ECG and accelerometer sensors.

Requires permit: Ultium EMG:

This is a permit of Ultium EMG device (Noraxon, USA). The device is intended for human measurements, therefore the permit is required. Currently there are sensors for EMG, ECG and accelerometer measurement. To get the permit, do the following steps: 1) If you are new to the device, please participate in ABL's user training courses. The courses contain user training for different measurement systems. Courses are not mandatory, but recommended for users new to equipment used in ABL. For information about the courses and schedules please contact ABL & MAGICS personnel. 2) In order to perform human research with MAGICS devices, a favorable statement from the ethical committee is required in following cases: - Your research fulfills the criteria listed in Guidelines on ethical assessments of research in the human sciences in Finland by The Finnish National Board on Research Integrity (TENK). - Your research funder or publisher requires you to apply statement, please note that the researcher in question has liability to check this. - Under Aalto’s internal policy, it is recommended to apply a statement in case you plan to collect and process sensitive personal data. 3) Fill and return th Research Permission form. The MAGICS academic coordinator or ABL research engineer accepts the research permission, which includes among others signature by the principal investigator, the names of people who are allowed to make reservations with this research permission, and the number of hours, which are also denoted in the financial obligation by the user. Research permission can be found from https://magics.fi/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Permission.pdf. 4) Reservation. Measurement time slots for MAGICS & ABL devices can be reserved at Aalto takeout reservation calendar. This permit is given after the research permission is approved. Please read the document OPERATIONS INSTRUCTION OF MAGICS DEVICES https://magics.fi/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Operation_Instructions.pdf and fill and return the document REQUEST TO CONDUCT RESEARCH https://magics.fi/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Permission.pdf
