Foley Stage Control Room (room 217)

OTK 7 Room 217 Foley Stage Control Room This Control Room is equipped with: Audio Workstation powered by a Mac Ultra M2 Ultra with 192GB ram. Dolby RMU server for Atmos Remote Renderer system. Surround System of 9.1.4 speaker setup with 8340A Genelec speakers. A total of 4 displays: 3x 27" Phillips 16:9 monitors. For video playback from the Pro Tools cideo engine there is 2×2,7 meters projection screen supporting up to 1080p resolutions. There speaker set up is operated by Avid MTRX and Avid HD I/O audio interface through DADman running over Mac OS Sonoma 14.6.1 This whole setup contains an HDX2 system for the DSP processing power up to 128 channels: 8 in / 8 out, 64 Dante channels and 128 MADI channels. Sync HD I/O for maintaining video reference sync to our house clock reference at 25fps PAL. Plus there is an RME Fireface UCX available to plug your own portable computer. This room counts with a control surface Avid S6 with 16 Faders. Also available in the room there is an UHD player to playback DVD, Bluray and UHD Bluray. Studio software: Pro Tools Ultimate 2024.6, Logic X, Audacity, Reaper, Soundly, Soundminer Pro v6 + other softwares are available upon request. We recommend to use your own external hard drive. <p>This Control Room facility can also be booked separately from the Foley Recording Stage for just mixing and listening.</p> This space available to all Aalto University users after completing a ‘Sound Permit’ introductory course, or by demonstrating your experience in using similar systems but a short introduction on how to operate and book the space is mandatory.
